Funk Vinyl

From the foundations to the present. James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, and the architects, through to the contemporary labels keeping the groove alive. Westbound. De-Lite. Daptone. Colemine.

Start with James Brown's 'Live' At The Apollo, Funkadelic's One Nation Under A Groove, Parliament's The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein and Sly & The Family Stone's There's A Riot Goin' On. The used stock digs deeper into the 70s and 80s: Tower Of Power, Ohio Players, Mandrill, Graham Central Station and Bootsy's Rubber Band, then Zapp, Cameo and The Gap Band as funk moved onto synths.

There's Afro-funk from Fela Kuti, William Onyeabor, Witch and Manu Dibango, the much-sampled breaks of Skull Snaps and Ripple, and the modern revival through The Budos Band, Menahan Street Band, El Michels Affair and Melbourne's own Surprise Chef. Used records are graded with condition listed, and everything ships Australia-wide from Melbourne.
