All News Is Good News, released July 2020 on College Of Knowledge Records, is the debut album from Melbourne instrumental soul group Surprise Chef, tracked live to tape in the band's home studio in Coburg and engineered by Henry Jenkins. Guitarist Lachlan Stuckey has said the group records that way "simply because so many of the records we love most were made that way." The label describes the sound as steeped in a close study of 1970s soul, touching on the legacies of its great composer-producers while landing as something distinctly its own.
