Grant Green's first official live recording, cut in 1970 at the Cliché Lounge in Newark with organists Neal Creque and Ronnie Foster alternating across the set. AllMusic's Steve Huey called it the hardest funk record Green made in his later career, the small-club atmosphere audible throughout — Claude Bartee's tenor sax and Willie Bivens's vibraphone working over Idris Muhammad's drums. A regularly cited entry point into Green's funkier, more groove-driven period on Blue Note.
