Reggae Roots & Dub

Roots reggae, rocksteady, and dub, the Kingston lineage from the late 60s through to the present. Studio One, Trojan, and the producers who built the sound.

Rocksteady comes from Alton Ellis's Treasure Isle sides, The Paragons, The Heptones, The Melodians and John Holt. The roots classics include Culture's Two Sevens Clash, Burning Spear's Marcus Garvey, The Congos' Heart Of The Congos, Max Romeo's War Ina Babylon and Peter Tosh's Legalize It, with Kabaka Pyramid and Jesse Royal carrying it forward.

The dub shelf covers King Tubby, Scientist, Lee Perry, Joe Gibbs & The Professionals, Augustus Pablo and The Revolutionaries, the engineers and producers who turned the mixing desk into an instrument. Everything ships Australia-wide from Melbourne.
