The Budos Band III, released August 2010 on Daptone, is the Staten Island group's third self-titled album, recorded at Daptone's House of Soul studio and produced under Gabriel Roth's Bosco Mann alias. The eleven-track instrumental record, built around baritone sax, horns and a full percussion section, was named The New Yorker critic Sasha Frere-Jones's favorite album of 2010, part of a wave of strong reviews for the band's darker, more cinematic turn.
