School Days, recorded in 1975 at Electric Lady Studios and A&M Studios and released the following year, was co-produced by Stanley Clarke and Ken Scott, originally intended for quadraphonic release before the label opted for stereo instead, requiring a last-minute fold-down mix. George Duke, John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham and Steve Gadd all appear on the session. The album reached number two on the jazz albums chart.
