Michel Colombier, the composer's 1979 self-titled album on Chrysalis, was produced by Denny Diante and recorded across A&M and Devonshire Studios, Criteria in Miami, and Wembley's Music Centre with the London Symphony Orchestra. The session roster is the record's real hook: Jaco Pastorius on bass, Herbie Hancock on electric piano and synths, Michael Brecker on tenor sax, and Steve Gadd and Peter Erskine splitting drum duties across eleven tracks.
