Sending My Love, originally released in 2008 and reissued as a remixed, remastered Special Edition in 2019 with its first-ever vinyl pressing, was revisited by Manchester trumpeter Matthew Halsall, who has said he was "never 100 percent happy with the sound of the mixes and mastering" on the original. Halsall, who founded Gondwana Records the same year the album first appeared, built the record on the spiritual jazz lineage of Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders filtered through electronica and impressions from time spent in Japan. New artwork for the reissue came from Ian Anderson of The Designers Republic.
