Mandrill (1971) is the debut album by the Brooklyn band founded by brothers Carlos, Louis and Ricardo Wilson, recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York in the winter of 1970. Its mix of soul, funk, Latin rhythms and jazz-rock reached number 27 on the Billboard soul albums chart and number 48 on the pop chart. The title track was the single, and most of side two is taken up by the multi-part suite "Peace And Love (Amani Na Mapenzi)". We also have War's Deliver The Word for more 70s multicultural funk. This is a US Polydor pressing, made at the Pitman plant.
