Instant Funk, released on Salsoul Records, is the self-titled album from a group that had spent years as Philadelphia International's session players for producer Bunny Sigler before he produced this breakout record himself, recorded across three Philadelphia studios. Lead single "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)," remixed by Paradise Garage's Larry Levan and Bob Blank, became a massive club hit, topping both the R&B and disco charts and selling over a million copies.
