Melbourne's Henry Hicks, recording as Horatio Luna, built his 2020 debut LP on La Sape around a house music foundation he then pulled toward dub, jazz and bruk — ten tracks opening with “Some Like It Hot,” featuring Throne Boy. Hicks set out deliberately to make something “not box-able,” pulling from every style he'd played across his career rather than settling into one lane. He's since called it a coming-of-age record, the one where he pushed himself across every part of the process rather than leaning on what already worked.
