This 2011 Strut compilation gathers Ghanaian highlife guitarist Ebo Taylor's scattered 1970s recordings into one overdue set — solo cuts alongside work from his side projects the Apagya Show Band, Assase Ase and Super Sounds Namba, plus productions and songwriting he did for C.K. Mann and a collaboration with Pat Thomas's early-70s outfit Blue Monks. Sixteen tracks spanning several different ensembles rather than a single unified session, the compilation format doing the work of tracing one guitarist's reach across Ghana's highlife and afrobeat scenes during his most prolific working decade of all.
