Charlie Hunter's 1995 debut for Blue Note is built entirely around his signature eight-string guitar, playing bass and chords simultaneously with tenor saxophonist Dave Ellis and drummer Jay Lane rounding out the trio. Ten tracks of acid jazz and jazz-rock recorded with producer Lee Townsend, the cover art a direct homage to Horace Parlan's Speakin' My Piece and its neon sign referencing the 500 Club near San Francisco's Elbo Room, where the trio built their early reputation.
