Brothers Kevin and Tony Martin, plus drummer Eric Hagstrom, built this 2024 record — their second full-length, and first in four years — at their own studio in Long Beach with Big Crown's Leon Michels producing. It's a record that keeps circling back to loss and drift: “NyNy” is written for the Martins' late grandfather, “Gift Of Life” sits with existential questions directly, and songs like “Too Yung” don't flinch from substance use as subject matter. Clairo lends background vocals on “Hanging On.” Originally from Rialto, California, the trio call themselves brothers by blood and by friendship — the record plays like it.
