Allysha Joy's third solo album, self-produced and released on First Word in September 2024, follows 2018's Acadie: Raw and 2022's Torn: Tonic — eleven tracks built around what she calls compassionate love, citing bell hooks and the poet Hafiz as reference points for the record's central idea: choosing to love in full knowledge of its impermanence. Rich string arrangements and layered vocal harmony carry that theme through, the Melbourne singer and 30/70 frontwoman writing with the same raw directness she's known for on stages shared with Snarky Puppy and Kokoroko.
