Talk Don't Bother Me, originally released in 1987 on Isaacs's own Skengdon label, arrived after a stint in prison that had interrupted one of the most prolific runs of his career, leaving this record somewhat overlooked at the time. Producer Kenneth "Skengdon" Black backed him with Lloyd Parks and We the People Band, with reggae veterans Jackie Mittoo and Keith Sterling on keys and Dwight Pinkney on guitar. The record pairs Isaacs's mellow, romantic "Lonely Lover" vocal style against the tougher digital riddims that defined mid-'80s Jamaican production, a harder-edged sound than his earlier analog-era work. It has since returned to digital and streaming platforms after decades out of print.
