Yazz Ahmed's fourth album, released on Night Time Stories in February 2025, is her first built specifically around voice — lyrics drawn from Bahraini wedding poems and the songs of pearl divers, sung by vocalists including Natacha Atlas, Brigitte Beraha and Ahmed's own father. A decade into exploring her British-Bahraini identity through jazz composition, Ahmed uses the record to centre women's stories from Arab culture specifically, working with percussionist Corrina Silvester, drummer Martin France and vibraphonist Ralph Wyld. The Guardian named it a Global Album of the Month; Jazzwise called it some of her most expansive writing to date.
