London duo David Mrakpor and Namali Kwaten (NK-OK) built this 2024 album for Blue Note following their 2022 label debut Motherland Journey — a blend of jazz, hip-hop, soul and electronic production the pair have refined since emerging from London's jazz scene in the mid-2010s. They're also the production team behind Angélique Kidjo's Grammy-winning Mother Nature, and picked up the Jazz FM Innovation Award in 2022, both signs of a duo more interested in production range than any single lane.
