The Blackbyrds' 1974 follow-up, again produced by Donald Byrd, is best known for “Walking In Rhythm,” a top-ten hit the following year built around Keith Killgo's lead vocal on the opening track. Session players including trumpeters Bobby Bryant and Oscar Brashear and saxophonist Ernie Watts thicken the core band's jazz-funk sound, Barney Perry's guitar and Perk Jacobs's percussion rounding out the group's now six-piece lineup. It's the record that turned the Howard University group into a genuine crossover act.
