Sly & Robbie Present Gregory Isaacs gathers productions the rhythm section duo Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare cut with Gregory Isaacs for their own Taxi label, run on informal, profit-sharing terms with the artists who recorded for it. Sly and Robbie built their tracks from the drums and bass up, tinkering until the rhythms locked into place, a method that shaped much of Jamaican music through the 1980s. Isaacs, known as the "Cool Ruler," was among the label's key voices.
