In My Element, released March 2007 on Blue Note, is Robert Glasper's third album, recorded at Systems Two Studios in Brooklyn with his regular trio of bassist Vicente Archer and drummer Damion Reid, plus a spoken-word feature from Reverend Joe Ratliff. Co-produced by Glasper and Eli Wolf, the record reached the top ten of the Jazz Albums chart. It's often cited as an early marker of the more hip-hop and R&B-informed jazz sound Glasper would develop further on subsequent releases.
