Pyjæn’s second album was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in November 2020, the five-piece describing the sessions as building ‘an unrivalled connection’ between them after four years together. Dani Diodato’s guitar, Dylan Jones’s trumpet and Ben Vize’s sax carry the band’s mix of funk, jazz, hip-hop and punk, tight horn charts sitting over raw, live energy rather than studio polish. Guests Nix Northwest, Elisa Imperilee, Hilts and corto.alto each get space without pulling focus from the core group. Feast reads as a band comfortable enough in its own chemistry to let five strong personalities actually collide rather than smooth each other out.
