London Brew, released March 2023, gathers twelve London musicians, including Nubya Garcia, Shabaka Hutchings, Theon Cross and Raven Bush, for a session recorded over three days in December 2020 at The Church Studios, built explicitly as a response to Miles Davis's Bitches Brew on its fiftieth anniversary. Nubya Garcia has described the session as a pleasure to record with such a talented group of friends after months of pandemic isolation. Shabaka Hutchings framed the connection to Davis's record in similar terms, calling it music made from "the love of making music," a phrase that captures the session's loose, collaborative spirit as much as its sonic debt to Davis.
