Holiness Righteousness, reissued 2015 on Secret Records for Record Store Day, draws on Lee Perry's Alien Starman sessions, recorded in early 2003 at Ro-Lo Studios in Coventry, England, with a UK backing band including bassist Nick Welsh of the ska scene. Produced by Roger Lomas, the ten tracks favor prominent female backing vocals and lighter, more straightforward rhythms than Perry's classic Jamaican dub work, a distinctly different sound from his 1970s Black Ark productions.
