Joe Gibbs and engineer Errol Thompson, known together as the Mighty Two, were among the most influential production partnerships in 1970s reggae, running a Kingston studio that turned out both vocal hits and the dub versions stripped from them. Their African Dub series remixed Gibbs's own productions into stark, echo-drenched instrumentals built on drop-outs and reverb. Chapter Two continues that run, part of a string of volumes that helped shape dub as its own genre.
