The Pure Sound Of The Purifys, released 1967 on Bell Records, is the original studio album from James Purify and his cousin Robert Dickey, the Pensacola, Florida duo producer Don Schroeder discovered and paired with songwriters Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham on their breakthrough hit "I'm Your Puppet." The record draws on sessions at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals and American Sound Studio in Memphis, backing hits like "Shake a Tail Feather."
