All About Esther Phillips, released 1978 on Mercury, was produced by former Crusaders member Wayne Henderson at ABC Recording Studios, backed by drummer Harvey Mason, keyboardist Bobby Lyle and saxophonists Ernie Watts and Peter Christlieb. It was one of four albums Phillips made for Mercury after signing with the label in 1977, and includes a cover of "Native New Yorker" alongside a medley pairing "There You Go Again" with the standard "Stormy Weather."
