Truth N' Time, released 1978 on Hi Records, was Al Green's last secular studio album before he turned fully to gospel recording, produced by Green himself at Memphis's Royal Studios rather than with longtime collaborator Willie Mitchell. The record leans on covers, reworking Lulu's "To Sir With Love" and Dionne Warwick's "Say a Little Prayer" alongside originals like "Blow Me Down" and the title track. It came packaged with an unusually elaborate gatefold sleeve featuring Green's own sketch and signature.
