Solar Music, released October 2023 on Concord Jazz, is Richmond band Butcher Brown's major-label-adjacent statement, a wide-ranging set that moves through jazz, hip-hop and R&B without settling into any one of them for long. Across seventeen core tracks plus digital-only single edits, the group brings in Pink Siifu, Braxton Cook, Jay Prince, Nappy Nina, Keyon Harrold, Michael Millions and Charlie Hunter, each guest nudging the sound in a slightly different direction.
