The O'Jays In Philadelphia, released 1970, was the group's Philadelphia debut and the flagship release for Neptune Records, the Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff label that operated for about two years before evolving into Philadelphia International. Recorded at Sigma Sound Studios with arrangements by Thom Bell and Bobby Martin, the album followed Gamble discovering the group in 1968 and preceded their commercial breakthrough with Back Stabbers by two years.
