Hiro Amamiya, drummer for the band Teleman, records solo as Hiro Ama, and this 2022 EP for PRAH follows his field-recording-heavy Uncertainty with a more deliberately limited, largely acoustic palette. Six tracks — “Free Soul,” “Autumn Colours,” “Outside,” “Wheat Fields,” “In The Right Place,” “From Joy To Sorrow” — built for warmth over electronic sheen, though subtle field recordings still surface throughout, the record moving through disco, IDM and jazz-tinged ambient textures via what's been described as gently pulsing grooves. A narrower, more emotionally direct record than his earlier, more eclectic work under the same name.
