Recorded live and direct-to-disc in a single day in Haarlem, with no editing, overdubbing or re-recording possible once the session started, this five-track set pairs veteran saxophonist Gary Bartz with the UK jazz group Maisha, who were passing through Europe on tour, from Istanbul to Holland, when the two connected. Several pieces draw on material from Bartz's 1970s NTU Troop records, given new shape by Maisha's contemporary rhythm section. Bartz has compared the band's chemistry to family; Maisha's Jake Long said the day carried real excitement and laughter throughout the studio session.
