High On Mad Mountain, released 1979 on Westbound Records, is a four-track orchestral disco record written, arranged and produced entirely by Mike Theodore, built around a roughly nineteen-piece string section, full horns and a nine-voice choir. Sessions ran across studios in Detroit and Dearborn before mixing at Criteria in Miami, with percussionist Paulinho Da Costa and Motown guitarist Eddie Willis among the players. The record has become a steady crate-digger favorite, later surfacing on a Stereo MC's DJ-Kicks mix.
