Kaidi Tatham - Miles Away (LP) 2025 (Mint (M))

Miles Away, released March 2025 on First Word Records, has Belfast-based multi-instrumentalist Kaidi Tatham, a pioneer of the UK broken beat movement, playing every instrument himself across ten tracks, Rhodes, piano, synths, strings, horns and flutes among them, including "Misty Garden," "Sweet Cherry Punch" and the title track. MC Uhmeer features on "Wave." Tatham's credits span collaborations with Amy Winehouse, Mulatu Astatke and Soul II Soul, and the label describes the record as an array of eclectic electronic jazz built on vibrant percussion and unpredictable drum patterns, recorded and mixed by Tatham himself.
